The registration of the application forms has been started by Nadra under "Naya Pakistan Housing Programme" as announced by Prime Minister Imran Khan for establishment of housing scheme at Faisalabad. The registration process was formally inaugurated by Punjab Minister for Housing, Urban Development & Public Health, Engineer Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed during a ceremony held here at Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Auditorium.
Punjab Minister for Social Welfare, Ajmal Cheema, Special Assistant to CM, Malik Umar Farooq, other parliamentarians Sh Khurram Shehzad, Faizullah Kamoka, Nawab Sher Waseer, Latif Nazar, Shakil Shahid, Khayal Kastro, Adil Parvez, Saeed Ahmad, Fardous Rai, DG Nadra Meer Alam, Divisional Commissioner Asif Iqbal Ch, Deputy Commissioner Syed Ahmad Fawad, Chairman FDA Dr Asad Muazzam, other officers of divisional and district administration and a large number of citizens were present in the ceremony.
The Punjab Minister for Housing inaugurated the process of registration by clicking the button of computer and issued the receipt to the applicants.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the Minister for Housing Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed said that Naya Pakistan Housing Project was revolution for project in the history of Pakistan and five million houses would be constructed during the five years for provision the shelter to the homeless citizens.
He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan conceived this housing project for the welfare and social protection of the masses which would be proved as a game changer in the social life.
He said that no government in the past solved this national problems of providing houses and only politics was played by raising the hollow slogans like Roti Kapra our Makan and Ayshana Housing Scheme but the incumbent government was taking practical steps for providing own houses to the homeless people.
He said that the district Faisalabad had been selected for Naya Pakistan Housing Programme in first phase and it was planning to construct the five thousand houses in different categories as a first installment.
He announced that the scope of Naya Pakistan Programme would be expanded to the tehsil, town and village level and comprehensive strategy was being devised in this regard.
He said that Naya Pakistan Housing Authority would also be established at provincial level and a task force would work for monitoring and regulating this project.
He informed that Land Bank had been set up in the Punjab and the additional state land & dead assets of land property had been indentified in this regard.
He said that government would provide the state land and the investors would be invited for this project.
The minister hoped that the industries relating to the housing sector would be boosted up and a large number of employment opportunities would be available through these housing projects.
He emphasized upon the district administration to provide all-out facilities to the applicants and the additional counters should be set up to avoid long queues of the citizens.
The minister made it clear that only registration fee of Rs 250 would be charged by Nadra for its processing expenditure and government would not be taken a single penny in this regard.
He suggested that the half price should be received from the allottees for providing them economical relief and assured that he would take up this suggestions with the government.
During the ceremony, DG Nadra Meer Alam told that the registration of the forms under Naya Pakistan Housing Programme would continue by December 21, 2018 on the counters set up at Deputy Commissioner Office and the applicants would be facilitated in all respect.
