Coordination with ministries/divisions; PM's Office activates task management system
Prime Minister's Office has started implementation on task management system meant for speedy and efficient coordination with the Ministries/Divisions, official sources told Business Recorder. This has been conveyed by the Secretary to the Prime Minister, Azam Khan, in a letter to all federal ministers/ministers of state, all advisors to the prime minister, all special assistants to the prime minister, all federal secretaries and chief secretaries of provinces.
According to Secretary to the Prime Minister, subsequent to approval of the Prime Minister on October 16, 2018 the task management system is being implemented by the Prime Minister's Delivery System for the purpose of ensuring more efficient coordination between the Prime Minister's Office and Federal Ministries/Divisions along with their attached entities and offices of the Chief Secretaries. The system that is being implemented is enabled to ensure efficient tracking of any specific task (related to a concerned Ministry/Division/and issued related to office of the Chief Secretary) as a general task, which would be monitored by the Prime Minister personally.
He further stated that all such tasks with implementation timelines will be communicated to the concerned offices from the platform of the PMDU. The focal persons nominated by offices have already been trained on various aspects of the system during a daylong session, as already communicated. The user names and passwords for using the system have been created for all users and handed over to the respective focal persons.
Azam Khan said that for the purpose of pursuing the assigned task, a fellow up mechanism has been devised wherein a colour coded theme will be applied on the official correspondence (letters) of PMDU & on the dashboard of task management system. This will help all concerned to clarify identity letters of MPDU from other official correspondence. All the assigned tasks communicated from the platform of the PMDU will be time bound and the concerned entity has to ensure compliance accordingly within the prescribed time limit as communicated by the PMO through dash boards.
Meanwhile, if any office desires to further extend this system to its subordinate offices and respective attached formations, this will be supported by the PMDU upon a formal request in this regard.
Prime Minister Office has requested all the concerned Ministries/Divisions to implement the task management system in letter and spirit in the best national interest. Secretary to Prime Minister maintains that the implementation of the system would also factor into the performance evaluation of the various government officers and subordinate office.
