In order to promote knowledge-based economy in the country, Intellectual Property Organization Pakistan (IPO-Pakistan) will fully support Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) for the establishment of Science, Technology and Innovation Park (STIP).
Mujeeb Ahmad Khan, Chairman, IPO-Pakistan pledged the resolve during a meeting with Shahzad Alam, Chairman, PCSIR here on Monday, says a press release.
During the meeting, Alam briefed the IPO-Pakistan about the establishment of the STIP and said that the PCSIR was establishing the innovation park at the premises of PCSIR Labs Complex, Lahore with an aim to develop an ecosystem that will stimulate research, creativity, innovation, technology development, entrepreneurship and commercialization in Pakistan.
Chairman, PCSIR stated that upon its completion, this model Park would promote the concept of "Knowledge-based Economy" in the country. Speaking on this occasion, Mujeeb Ahmad Khan, Chairman, IPO-Pakistan praised the idea of establishment of a model park and assured that IPO would extend its complete support in this regard. IPO will also assist in the establishment of Technology Innovation Support Center (TISC) and Patent Wall in the park, he said while adding that the initiative would not only encourage the young entrepreneurs, industry, businessmen and researchers to protect their IP rights but also enable them to contribute in the growth of national wealth. Both the organizations agreed to organize awareness and training workshops to promote Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) in the country.-PR
