Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) and Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD) have agreed to voice concerns over the issues faced by industry, including water shortage, at every level and decided to form a joint committee to follow up the matter. This has been decided at a joint meeting of KATI and ABAD where participants reached consensus that desalination is the most effective solution of the water scarcity in Karachi. They urged the provincial and federal government to take effective measures to launch such projects. They said business community is ready to give possible support in this regard.
They noted that desalination is the most effective solution of water shortage in Karachi. They thrashed out the water distribution issue, supply and billing. KATI president Danish Khan briefed them on problems faced by industry due to unavailability of water. ABAD chairman Muhammad Hasan said the hurdle faced by construction industry due to water mismanagement and scarcity. Senior vice president Faraz-ur-Rehman, vice president Maheen Salman, former president Farhan-ur- Rehman and Masood Naqi represented KATI. ABAD's senior vice chairman Muhammad Anwar Dawood, vice chairman Abdul Kareem Adhya, Nusrat Chughtai and others attended the meeting.
