The Karachi Port handled 94,190 tonnes of cargo comprising 52,552 tonnes of import cargo and 41,638 tonnes of export cargo including 3,761 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargos of 52,552 tonnes comprised of 29,001 tonnes of containerised cargo; 7,504 tonnes of DAP; 4,060 tonnes of soyabean meal and 11,987 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 41,638 tonnes comprised of 18,046 tonnes of containerised cargo; 19,800 tonnes of clinker and 3,792 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 3,761 containers comprising of 1,978 containers import and 1,783 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday. The breakup of imported containers shows 685 of 20's and 579 of 40's loaded while 01 of 20's and 67 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 516 of 20's and 260 of 40's loaded containers while 355 of 20's and 196 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were six ships namely Kota Kaya, Cape Male, MT Quetta, Bochem Ghent, Chemrout Oasis and TS Index carrying containers, oil tankers and DAP respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were five vessels viz. Kota Layar, APL Chong Qing, Chemroad Sakura, Selin-D and Al-Salam-II carrying containers and oil tankers respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 198,153 tonnes comprising 147,328 tonnes of import cargo and 50,825 tonnes of export cargo including 4,054 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 147,328 tonnes includes 22,010 tonnes of furnace oil; 14,282 tonnes of palm oil; 32,700 tonnes of LNG; 1,760 tonnes of bitumen; 39,870 tonnes of coal; 10,567 tonnes of soyabean seeds and 26,201 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 50,825 tonnes includes 50,825 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 4,054 containers comprising of 1,379 containers import and 2,675 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday. There were four ships namely CV MOL Gerosity, CV Maersk Columbus, CV Maersk Tomoko and MT Umm Al-Amad carrying containers and LNG respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday.
A total number of ten vessels were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, bitumen, soyabean, coal, LNG, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as eight ships namely CV Tucapel, MV Reem-3, MV Epic Tetus, MV Glovis Maria, MV Elias, MT Maria-III, MT Ardmore and MT NCC Danah and MT Maritime Rosemary carrying containers, bitumen, soyabean, coal, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. CV Tucapel, CV Hugo Schulte, MV Reem-3, MV Glovis Maria and MV YM Miranda carrying containers, bitumen, coal and chemical respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Thursday
There is one ship namely CV Hugo Schulte carrying containers due to arrive on Thursday, while another ship namely CV CMA CGM Georgia carrying containers due to arrive on Friday.
There are two ships namely CV MS Tiger and CV Cape Mayor carrying containers due to arrive on Saturday.
