The Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah attend the concluding ceremony at Mazar of great mystic poet Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai at Bhitshah town of Matiari district in connection with his 275th annual Urs celebrations. While talking to the media, the chief minister said the death rate of children in other parts of the country is about 70 to 100 children among each one thousand whereas the ratio in Thar is 50 to 60 among one thousand.
CM Shah claimed that all efforts are being made to save the lives of children in Tharparkar however he said the death rate of children in Thar district is below as compared to other parts of the country.
However, he said while realizing the fact, the provincial government is making all out efforts to control the increasing incidents of the children deaths in the desert district of the province.
To a question, he said the provincial government was also making efforts to reactivate the inoperative Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants in Tharparkar. The PPP government had established maximum numbers of RO plants in the desert district; he said and added the present situation in Thar is better as compared to past.
Responding to a question about the JIT set up on the directives of the Supreme Court Chief Justice regarding money laundering, the chief minister said the provincial government had extended maximum cooperation to JIT and provided all such information which asked by it.
The Chief Justice also expressed satisfaction over timely submission of information to JIT and ordered to submit further information in time if demanded, he said and added that he was called by the Chief Justice today but due to scheduled visit of Bhitshah, he requested through Advocate General Sindh that he will appear tomorrow before the Justice Supreme Court. "We have always given due respect to judiciary and whenever required we will appear before the Supreme Court", he said.
To another question about the accountability of NAB, the CM said there was no objection on accountability, but it should be carried out across the board.
Though the accountability came under jurisdiction of the provincial government and the anti-corruption establishing doing its responsibility well, however there is no objection on the working of NAB, Syed Murad Ali Shah said and added that the NAB should carry out accountability instead of political victimisation.
Replying to another question about any move of making crack in the ranks of PPP, Syed Murad Ali Shah said since childhood he was hearing such type news but the fact is that all are united in the party.
Responding to a question about Sufi University in Bhitshah Town, the CM Shah said delay is being occurred that there was no state land in the town to acquire for establishment of the varsity, however, soon the issue would be resolved by the government.
