Sindh Minister for Environment & Coastal Development, Taimoor Talpur has said that those who are responsible for creating environmental hazard in the coastal belt of Sindh province would be awarded exemplary punishment as per rules.
He visited Mubarak Village and its surrounding areas and inspected the impact of oil spill over the coastal belt of Sindh. While talking to newsmen, he said that oil spill has endangered the sea creatures and added that investigation were under way to find out the culprits behind the environmental hazard.
He added that investigations were being conducted by federal and provincial agencies including Pakistan Navy and Maritime Security Agency and responsible for this environmental hazard would soon be identified.
He said that the oil spill seen in Sindh Balochistan coastal border areas and in Mubarak village and its surrounding areas has its effects up to Manora Island. He said that measures would be taken with the assistance of federal government agencies and international environmental protection organisations for cleansing of oil spill from the coastal belt.
