The ongoing sports' competitions among government and private high and higher secondary schools in Lower Dir entered its second phase. The zonal sports' events concluded on different grounds in the district.
Air Foundation School and College Timergara beat The Educators School Timergara campus by 5-0 in the football zonal final match played at Shekolai ground. The same school has also qualified for the Badminton final match on district level. The government high school Mian Banda got first position in hockey after defeating government centennial model high school Timergara in a thrilling match played at the Timergara rest house ground.
Similarly the volleyball team of government higher secondary school SaraiBala remained winner of Talash zone after defeating the team of GHSS Ziarat Talash.
In Basketball the teams of GHSS Sado and GHSS Khall qualified for the district final. In volleyball Timergara zone the Danish School and College Beyari beat the team of GHSS Malakand and remained winner of the zone. Different functions were held at Osakai, Mian Banda, Shamshi Khan and Chakdara on conclusion of zonal volleyball, basketball, hockey, football and Badminton.
Speaking on the occasion district games' secretary principal Humayun Khan, assistant district officer physical education Wajihud Din, ADO Ali Haidar and others said that sports were essential for overall development of children.
