Punjab Minister for Industry and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal has said that the government has evolved an effective action plan for creating job opportunities. The minister revealed this during a meeting with the managing director, Investment Reforms Unit P&D Department and chief operating officer of Technical Education and Vocation Training Authority (TEVTA), here on Thursday. Welfare projects, training programmes of TEVTA and issues related to model bazaars also came under discussion.
He said that SME Support Programme is being initiated in collaboration with the Punjab Small Industries Corporation which would help generate countless job opportunities. He said that the present government would bring the province out of financial crisis by promoting trader activities and industry. Industrial sector would be strengthened by promoting SME Support Programme, ease to business and enhancing public private partnership.
He said the big portion of the country's population consists of youth; therefore, the government is launching a soft loan programme for youth so as enable to join the journey of country's development. Steps are being taken rapidly for establishing new technical universities and to revise outdated curriculum of technical education, he added.
