The first widespread winter rain and snowfall over the hills has turned weather cold and thick smog in upper parts of the country including central and northern Punjab, KPK, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. Met Office said on Friday that rain-thunderstorm (snowfall over the hills) with gusty winds occurred at scattered places in Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi divisions, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, while at isolated places in Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Lahore, Sahiwal, D G Khan and Peshawar divisions. It recorded rain as under:
Weather Forecast for Saturday: Partly cloudy weather conditions are expected in upper parts of the country. However rain-thunderstorm (snowfall over the hills) with gusty winds is expected at scattered places in Malakand, Hazara division, Kashmir and GB, while at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala division and Islamabad. Dry weather is expected elsewhere in the country. Parts of Lahore and its adjacent areas received light rain in the early hours of Friday which turned the weather cold.
Rain has reduced the smog that had engulfed the city for the past few days. Rain was also reported in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Sheikhupura, Jhelum, Mindi Bhattian, Attock, Marowal, Gujranwala, Muridke and Chiniot.
