Flagship Investments reference: last PW to conclude statement today

As the Flagship Investments reference filed against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has entered its final stage, the last prosecution witness on Wednesday continued recording of his statement before the Accountability Court-II. Accountability Court Judge Arshad Malik resumed the hearing. Nawaz Sharif was present in the courtroom during the hearing.
Prosecution witness and Investigation Officer NAB Mohammad Kamran presented details of the properties "owned" by Hassan Nawaz Sharif. He said that there are 17 flats and other properties against the 18 companies owned by Hassan Nawaz. To this, the counsel for the Sharif objected over the details of the properties, saying the details presented by the investigation officer are not acceptable under Qanoon-e-Shahadat (law of evidence).
Kamran told the court that he visited the United Kingdom for a follow-up under the mutual legal assistance (MLA) request, as he had moved an application to the Companies House in the UK seeking the record of 10 companies owned by Hassan Nawaz. "I had given the address of Pakistani high commission in London while followed the case on telephone by remaining in contact with the Companies House to obtain the record," Kamran further said.
He further testified that on August 24, 2017, he along with director National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Rawalpindi, went to Pakistan's High Commission in London where Zakiuddin, a consular assistant, handed over 12 sealed envelops from the office of Rao Abdul Hannan, a visa and consular attaché at the high commission.
He stated that all the 12 sealed envelops sent by the Companies House were unsealed at the office of the visa attaché. He said that the visa official told them that the documents needed attestation from notary public and the Commonwealth.
After the witness narrated the details of the attestation procedure, the counsel for the Sharif Zubair Khalid objected, saying: "The witness is just narrating hearsay which cannot be accepted." The witness will conclude his statement today (Thursday).
