Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Noorul Haq Qadri has said that Hajj Policy 2019 would be finalised within next three months. Responding to questions of the members in the National Assembly on Wednesday, the minister said the process for formulation of Hajj Policy and Plan 2019 had been initiated.
He said the decision regarding Hajj dues to be collected per Haji (pilgrim) would be taken after consultation with all the stakeholders including the designated airlines in due course of time and the House would be informed accordingly.
He said, "Prime Minister Imran Khan and his government are committed to developing Pakistan on the pattern of the State of Medina. For this purpose, we are seeking proposals from the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) and religious scholars of the country."
Answering another question, he said that dialogue among various religious communities of Pakistan was vital for interfaith harmony in the country. He said the government was planning to organise an international interfaith harmony conference next year.
Minister of State for Housing and Works, Shabbir Ali informed the House that the government was committed to providing housing facilities to the people under the Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme. He said that initially the programme had been launched in some districts of Pakistan as a pilot project, but it would be expanded to other districts in the next phase. He said the expansion of scheme would be undertaken after due consultation.
Parliamentary Secretary on National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Nausheen Hamid told the House that the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and Polyclinic hospitals of Islamabad had separate psychiatry departments.
Responding to a question, she said 39,000 patients for mental disorders had been registered at the PIMS since 2017. Later, Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda rejected the impression that data of all bank accounts of Pakistan had been hacked.
Responding to a point of order raised by Abdul Qadir Patel, the minister said that only one account of Bank Islami had been hacked and the State Bank of Pakistan was looking into the matter.
Speaking on a point of order, Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal leader Maulana Abdul Wasay urged the government to file a review petition in the Supreme Court in the Aasia Bibi blasphemy case.
Speaking on another point of order, PTI leader Ramesh Kumar Vankwani invited the parliamentarians to join him at his residence in Islamabad on Wednesday night to celebrate Diwali festival. He said all parliamentary leaders and heads of political parties should attend the event to make those celebrations purposeful for the progress and prosperity of entire Pakistan.
