Former Finance Minter Ishaq Dar said that the present government took a long time in properly dealing with IMF, "that reflects its inefficacy and bad-governance." Taking part in a TV's program, he said when he was at the helm of affairs in the country he timely handled the matters with the IMF, taking care of the national interest in the best possible way.
The government of Imran Khan wasted a considerable time in getting credit facility from the IMF, Ishaq Dar said, adding that the government of PML in the past and even the government of Pervez Musharraf had not taken so much time in finalizing the matters with International Monetary Fund.
Dar contended that the government's performance, getting financial support from the friendly countries is also quite poor. The people could well judge what they gained from the friends. He was of the view that the country could not be run through such a way.
The PTI government lacks proper financial plan, and it had not done any homework before coming into power. From the day one, the PTI's leadership is just crying over financial challenges. Such a 'depressing behaviour' is highly discouraging for foreign investment in the country, he added.
The former finance Minister went on add, the PML's government was well prepared when it took over reign of power. It had a comprehensive plan for dealing with the IMF and handling the burden of foreign debts, that was left behind by the government of Pakistan People Party.
