This is apropos a Business Recorder news item "Pemra chairman, ISPR chief discuss steps to facilitate media" carried by the newspaper on Wednesday. It is indeed a matter of great satisfaction that the chairman of Pakistan Electronic and Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) Muhammad Saleem Baig and Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major-General Asif Ghafoor have taken a highly important or much-needed step towards ensuring that country's positive image remains intact.
The Pemra chief and DG ISPR have discussed measures to facilitate Pakistan media in projecting a positive image and narrative of the country. Both the broadcast regulator and army's media wing, however, ought to have taken this step long ago with a view to facilitating the local media in effectively countering anti-Pakistan narrative at play through certain foreign media/inimical forces.
