The white coat ceremony was held here at Faisalabad Medical University (FMU) to welcome the new students of 1st year MBBS. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Zafar Ali Chaudhry was the chief guest on the occasion, which was held at Auditorium of Faisalabad Medical University. The new students were participated in the ceremony with their parents who got admission after qualifying the entrance test.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor FMU welcomed the students and greeted them on achieving the goal of medical education. He said that the white coat was the dignity and honour of the medical profession and they should maintain this prestige. He advised the new comer students to respect their teachers and seniors, besides following the discipline of this institution.
He said that the talented students had been succeeded in hard competition for getting the admission in the Pubic Medical Colleges but the journey of hard working would continue for qualifying the MBBS degree and higher medical education hereafter. He claimed that the Faisalabad Medical University was one of the best and credible medical institution having excellent faculties 3000 bedded attached hospitals and other research facilities.
He said that the students were very lucky who got MBBS admission in state run medical institution so as the medical education of private medical institutions was very expensive and most of parents could not afford the expenditure of private medical colleges.
The Vice Chancellor also administered the oath from the new comer students for performing their professional duties with full honesty, good attention and commitment during and after their education. Earlier, Professor Dr Shehzad introduced the new comer students with the faculty members and gave the details of teaching process. Professor Dr Hooria Amir, Professor Dr Javed Iqbal, Professor Dr Khalid Amin, Professor Dr Imtiaz Dogar, Professor Dr Hanif Nagra, Professor Dr Gulzar Rehman, Professor Dr GM Subhani, Dr Najaf Gill and other faculty members were also present at the event.
