The Karachi Port handled 274,565 tonnes of cargo comprising 206,864 tonnes of import cargo and 67,701 tonnes of export cargo including 9,832 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargos of 206,864 tonnes comprised of 103,658 tonnes of containerised cargo; 17 tonnes of bulk cargo; 26,962 tonnes of DAP and 76,227 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 67,701 tonnes comprised of 49,471 tonnes of containerised cargo and 18,230 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 9,832 containers comprising of 4,529 containers import and 5,303 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. The breakup of imported containers shows 1,398 of 20's and 1,330 of 40's loaded while 25 of 20's and 223 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,218 of 20's and 200 of 40's loaded containers while 675 of 20's and 1,505 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were four ships namely Conti Canberra, Northern Discovery, Stolt Lerk and Nota-A carrying containers, oil tanker and clinkers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were nine vessels viz. OOCL Busan, Conti Canberra, MS Tiger, Hyundai Vancouver, Xin Xia Men, Palomar, Pebble Beach, Palmela and Grand Dahlia carrying containers, oil tanker, fertilizer and vehicle respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 79,024 tonnes comprising 54,115 tonnes of import cargo and 24,909 tonnes of export cargo including 1,728 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 54,115 tonnes includes 13,840 tonnes of palm oil; 15,673 tonnes of coal; 27,500 tonnes of LNG; 2,242 tonnes of chemical; 2,610 tonnes of palm kernel and 7,923 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 24,909 tonnes includes 24,909 tonnes of containerised cargo. A total number of 1,728 containers comprising 417 containers import and 1,311 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
There was one ship namely MT Al-Safliya carrying LNG expected to sail on Monday morning, while two ships namely CV Maersk Jalan and MT Theress Success carrying containers and LNG respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of six vessels were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, cenent, chemical, palm kernel, LNG and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as seven ships namely MV Agre Kinsale, MV Rita Ocean, MV Rainbow IVY, MV Ilea, MV Sophia-Z, MT Glorious and MT Chirsopigi Lady carrying soyabean seeds, palm kernel, coal and diesel oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were four vessels viz. CV MSC Maeva, MV Ilea, MV Sophia-Z and MT Chirsopigi Lady carrying containers, coal and diesel oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Monday. There are two ships namely CV MSC Maeva and CV Maersk Seletar carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday. There is one ship namely CV MOL Generosity carrying containers due to arrive on Thursday.
