A meeting of the federal cabinet may approve today (Thursday) national tariff policy and review the government's performance in the first 100 days. An official said that though discussion on the government's first 100 days is not on the agenda of the federal cabinet, the prime minister is expected to review the government's performance in 100 days before addressing an event organised in this regard.
The prime minister will share his government's progress and initiatives taken during the first 100 days and way forward for their implementation. He said that 100 days agenda has remained under discussion during most of the cabinet meetings of the government and despite not being on the agenda, it is likely to be taken up. The federal cabinet meeting has been convened in the morning whereas an event wherein the government's performance would be unveiled is schedule in the evening.
The task forces were also constituted by the federal cabinet on implementation of various milestones set under 100-day agenda of the government. The federal cabinet will meet with seven-point agenda and besides National Tariff Policy, fencing and lighting of Pak-Afghan border and allocation of technical supplementary grant to Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation are also on the agenda items.
The cabinet will also consider a proposal with regard to governance reforms in Gilgit-Baltistan, Power Division's proposal for appointment of three non-executive independent directors in Central Power Purchasing Agency (Guarantee) Limited (CPPA-G) and Ministry of Communication's proposal for appointment of member finance, National Highway Authority (NHA).
The federal cabinet will also consider reconstitution of search committee for appointment of vice chancellor in Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU), Islamabad. The Law Division has also moved a proposal for appointment of technical member Drug Court Balochistan, Quetta.
