The disqualified prime minister and Quaid of PML-N Nawaz Sharif and other members of Sharif family met with leader of the opposition in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif who is in NAB custody on corruption charges. Nawaz Sharif was accompanied by Maryam Nawaz, Shahbaz Sharif's wife Nusrat Shahbaz, son Hamza Shahbaz and sons of Abbas Sharif during more than one hour meeting with his younger brother. They inquired about his health and the stage of investigations against him in Aashiana housing scam.
According to sources they also discussed the ongoing political situation in the country. Shahbaz Sharif took Nawaz Sharif into confidence over contacting opposition parties. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had allowed Nawaz Sharif to meet the ex-Chief Minister of Punjab. Earlier the two brothers had met on November 26, and discussed NAB cases against the two brothers and political situation in the country.
Meanwhile, Shahbaz Sharif's third wife Tehmina Durrani has raised questions over the delay in formation of a medical board to examine her (third) husband Shahbaz. In her tweet, she said that recent blood test reports of Shahbaz indicated signs of cancer returning. Shahbaz, a cancer survivor, underwent further tests, including a CT scan, at Poly Clinic last month. In light of the reports, doctors recommended that he be kept in an open and clean space which receives sunlight and fresh air. They also proposed a larger medical board comprising cancer experts be formed to examine
"My visit to CM Shahbaz today disturbed me. As he is a cancer survivor, pet scans & blood tests were regularly conducted by his Dr in London. The tests taken in Islamabad showed some abnormal signs. A board of Drs was to be constituted to check them. That has still not happened. WHY?" she asked.
