The Karachi Port handled 201,621 tonnes of cargo comprising 140,038 tonnes of import cargo and 61,583 tonnes of export cargo including 5,895 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargos of 140,038 tonnes comprised of 58,733 tonnes of containerised cargo; 20,345 tonnes of bulk cargo and 60,960 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 61,583 tonnes comprised of 54,601 tonnes of containerised cargo; 225 tonnes of bulk cargo; 6,000 tonnes of clinkers and 757 tonnes of rice. As many as 5,895 containers comprising of 2,907 containers import and 2,988 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,141 of 20's and 807 of 40's loaded while 20 of 20's and 66 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,000 of 20's and 257 of 40's loaded containers while 182 of 20's and 646 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were eight ships namely Bomar Hermes, Nord Spring, Bunga Laurel, MT Lahore, Sam Jaguar, Port Macau, Pebble Beach and CS Future carrying containers, oil tankers, clinkers, DAP and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were five vessels viz. Hyundai New York, Diyala, Theodosia, Minoan Grace and Ocean Carrier carrying containers, oil tanker, fertilizer and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 150,873 tonnes comprising 112,550 tonnes of import cargo and 38,323 tonnes of export cargo including 2,827 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 112,550 tonnes includes 7,400 tonnes of palm oil; 23,300 tonnes of LNG; 62,963 tonnes of coal; 3,497 tonnes of chemical and 15,390 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 38,323 tonnes includes 38,323 tonnes of containerised cargo.
A total number of 2,827 containers comprising 810 containers import and 2,017 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. There were three ships namely CV CMA CGM Rigoletto, MV YM Miranda and MT Maritime Nordic carrying containers, chemical and palm oil respectively expected to sail on Monday morning.
A total number of nine vessels were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, soyabean seeds, coal, bitumen, palm kernel, LNG and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as ten ships namely CV Seamax Darien, CV MSC Los Angeles, MV Reem-II, MV Agri Kinsale, MV Rita Ocean, MV Puppis Ocean, MV Ivs Naruo, MV Vila Harmony, MT Chemroad Aqua and MT Crimson Jade carrying containers, bitumen, soyabean seeds, coal and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. CV Seamax Darien, CV MSC Los Angeles, CV Diyala, MT Al Khuwaira and MT Chemroad Aqua carrying containers, LNG and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Elengy Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday. There was one ship namely CV Diyala carrying containers due to arrive on Monday.
There are two ships namely CV MSC Maria Elena and CV Maersk Chicago carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday.
