Chief Justice of Sindh High Court (SHC) Ahmed Ali M Sheikh on Wednesday took notice of lack of basic facilities in different schools in various districts of the province and directed Secretary Education Sindh to take necessary actions in this regard.
Taking notice of non-availability of basic facilities at Government Primary School Hameer, Taluka Jati, Sujawal, the CJ SHC in an order stated that while conceding to the very poor condition of the said school, constructed with wooden sticks, the Deputy Commissioner Sujawal stated that the district administration will take up the issue in this year ADP of the district and in a month or two, two-room schools with washroom, solar light, etc will be constructed there.
The CJ SHC directed Secretary Education to comply with the orders in letter and spirit and submit requisite progress report after six weeks.
About Primary School Ali Muhammad Parliiar, District Badin, the court directed Secretary Education Sindh to submit a progress report on the construction work at the schools with facilities of drinking water, washroom and solar system after the secretary assured that the construction work of the school, which was included in the list of dangerous schools, will start in a month or two with facilities of washroom, drinking water and solar system.
Justice Ahmed Ali M Sheikh also directed the Secretary Education to submit with the court the progress report after the Deputy Commissioner, Jamshoro, submitted that a two-room school at village Slier Muhammad Khoso near Mahjhand, District Jamshoro will be constructed in financial year 2018-2019 by assuring that full allocation for the said school and ensure its completion within two to three months.
The CJ SHC also directed Director College Education, Hyderabad Region to comply with the court orders about construction of government college building at Kario Ghanwar District Badin. The court observed that the Secretary Education and Secretary Finance Sindh had been directed to submit progress report in the subject matter after three months. However, after the lapse of stipulated time and issuance of reminder, both the departments failed to furnish the requisite progress report.
