The incidents of robbery and motor vehicle theft showed a significant increase in the city during the last week as over 13 cases of various kinds of theft and 14 cases of carjacking were reported to various police stations of the federal capital.
According to data gathered by Business Recorder, most 'favourite' areas for criminal elements during the last week were within the limits of Kohsar, Industrial Area, Sabzi Mandi, Koral and Lohi Bher police stations. In the same period, Kohsar police station which is located in the City Zone registered three cases of robbery and one case of car theft.
Haroon Abdullah lodged a complaint with Kohsar police station that some unknown persons stole his laptop from his car. Another Muhammad Qasim informed Kohsar police station that three armed persons broke into his shop and snatched Rs 25,000 cash from him at gunpoint. Some unidentified robbers stole cash and mobile phone from the shop of Jamsheed Farooz.
Auto thieves stole a bike bearing registration number ARN-802 of Muhammad Arslan from the jurisdiction of Kohsar police station. Another Fareeda Yasmeen informed Industrial Area police station that unknown bandits stole a laptop from the principal office of Islamabad Model College for Girls. Auto thieves stole a car bearing registration number LE-7754 of Muhammad Anwer.
Two cases each of car lifting and one case of robbery were reported to Sabzi Mandi police station during the last week. Auto thieves stole a car (LEI-9331) of Suhail Sabir and lifted a bike (RIL-8533) of Naseer Ahmed. Sajjad Hussain informed Sabzi Manid police station that four unknown armed persons snatched mobile phone, an ATM card and Rs 15,300 cash from him.
Motor vehicle thieves stole two motorbikes and one car from the limits of Koral police station during the last week. Carjackers stole a bike (RIR-2389) of Muhammad Bilal, lifted a car (LZE-1428) of Aurangzeb and stole another bike (AHL-535) of Frukh Saeed.
Lohi Bher police station registered two cases of robbery during the period under review. Muhammad Arif lodged a complaint with Lohi Bher police station that unknown persons stole a cow from his house. Another Abdul Khaliq lodged a complaint with Lohi Bher police station that unidentified persons stole Rs 650,000 from the pursue of his wife.
In the same period Golra, Tarnol, Bhara Kahu, Sihala and Bani Gala police stations registered one case each of robbery while one case each of auto theft was reported to Margalla, Khanna, Karachi Company, Ramna, and Noon police stations.
