The Punjab home department has set December 31 as deadline to cancel arm licenses not computerized by the National Database Registration Authority (NADRA), said sources.
A direction has been issued to all district administrations to disseminate this information to all the arm licence holders. A decision to this effect was made at the department on Saturday. It was told during the meeting that 900,000 arm licences have been computerized till date while another 200,000 are yet to be registered with the NADRA. The department has issued a final warning to this effect and made clear that there would be no more extension in it.
