Bid to smuggle betel nuts, Gutka foiled

The customs check post Khurkhera has foiled a bid to smuggle huge quantity of betel nuts and Indian Gutka to Karachi from Quetta. According to details, the customs check post Khurkhera has seized seven tons of betel nuts and 400 thousands of Indian Gutka (RajGuru) pouches, which were being smuggled to Karachi from Quetta in a truck loaded with sheep hides. The market value of seized goods is estimated to Rs 11 million. Consequent upon recovery, the driver was taken into custody and the case has been registered. The collector customs Gwadar Muhammad Yaqoob Mako also appreciated the staff for this seizure. Further investigation is in progress.
