Director General Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Qamar Zaman on Thursday visited Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association officeto discuss different ways and means to enhance trade volume as well as to know the problems being faced by the business community of the area.
The TDAP Director General Qamar Zaman speaking on the occasion assured that all-out efforts would be made to address the problems being faced by the business community.
"The promotion of export is top on government agenda and we making strenuous efforts to facilitate the business community of the country", he said. He further said that government was striving hard to improve the business environment and provide maximum facilitation to the business sector.
In his address of welcome Chairman Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association, Sheikh Sarwat Kapoor informed that the association was established in 1960 which represents the hosiery knitwear and sportswear manufactures and exporters through our five offices in the country (central and southern offices in Karachi, zonal offices in Lahore, Faisalabad and Sialkot) with more than 2000 members country-wide and more than 100 members in Sialkot were serving this industry.
Knitwear garment sector alone has earned some 2.719 billion dollar during last fiscal year (FY2018) for the country, he revealed. He said that it also provides highest employment in the textile sector while the knitwear garment sector has great potential and can achieve new milestones and its export can increase by 25 percent every year.
Sarwat further stated that ISPO is the important exhibition for business community for promoting and introducing products and it is heartening to note that TDAP has allocated 50 stalls for the manufacturers and exporters of the sportswear and goods, therefore, we request TDAP to allot us only 10 stalls for our members in ISPO 2020.
