The continuing drought is likely to remain severe in Sindh and Balochistan during this week, the Met Office has said that northern half of the country may have a normal weather. It said that drought conditions are prevailing in several districts of Sindh and Balochistan that include: Badin, Dadu, Hyderabad, Jacobabad, Jamshoro, Karachi, Khairpur, Larkana, Mityari, Mohenjo-Daro, Naushero Feroze, Qambar Shadadkot, Sukkur, Sajawal, Sanghar, Shaheed Benazirabad, Tharparkar, Thatta, and Umerkot. The drought affected districts of Balochistan are Awaran, Bolan, Chaghi, Gwadar, Kech, Kharan, Mastung, Panjgur, Quetta and Washuk.
"Normal conditions are likely to prevail in the northern half of the country over the period," it said. In the next 24 hours: Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in the most parts of the country. However, a very cold weather is expected in northern parts of the country. Dense and shallow fog is likely to continue in plains of Punjab, Upper Sindh and Peshawar Division during morning and night hours.
In the last 24 hours: Weather remained very cold in northern areas, while cold and dry in other parts of the country. Fog gripped few parts of central and southern Punjab. Mercury plunged to minus 9 degrees Celsius in Skardu, minus 7 in Gupis, minus 6 in Kalat, minus 5, each, in Quetta, Kalam, Hunza and Astore, minus 4 in Dalbandin, minus 3, each, in Gilgit, Malamjabba and Dir, minus 2, each, in Chitral and Rawalakot and minus 1, each in Drosh and Bagrote.
