The incidents of robbery, snatching at gunpoint and motor vehicle thefts significantly increased in federal capital as over 20 cases of various kind of theft and 11 cases of car lifting were reported to various police stations of the city during last week.
According to data gathered by Business Recorder, the most favorite areas for the criminal gangs were within the limits of Kohsar and Bani Gala, Karachi Company, Lohi Bher and Sabzi Mandi police stations. Citizens lost valuables worth millions of rupees during the aforesaid over 20 incidents of robbery and snatching at gunpoint.
During the last week, Kohsar police station registered three cases each of robbery and one case of auto theft. The carjackers stole a bike bearing registration number LEX-5893 of Khurram Shahzad valuing Rs 80,000 from the limits of Kohsar police station.
Some unknown robbers broke into the house of Tahir Khan in the limits of Kohsar police station and looted cash and jewellery valuing Rs 700000 and escaped from the scene. In another incident, Qamar Ahmed lodged a complaint with Kohsar police station that two unidentified armed persons stole cash and a cell phone valuing Rs 20000 from his house.
Similarly, Abdul Qadir lodged a complaint with Kohsar police station that an accused Rahim Ali stole cash and a cell phone valuing Rs 1,000,000 from his house. In the same period, Bani Gala police station registered three cases of robbery. A citizen Ziaur Rehman informed Bani Gala police station that unknown bandits stole gold ornaments and a laptop valuing Rs 40,0000 from his house. Mugees Ahmed informed Bani Gala police station that unidentified robbers stole jewellary and cash valuing Rs 1.7 million.
In another incident, Shakeel Ahmed informed Bani Gala police station that unknown robbers stole jewellery, cash, laptop and other valuables worth Rs 1.2 million from his house. Karachi company police station registered two cases each of motor vehicle theft and one case of robbery during the period under review.
A citizen Tahir Rehman lodged a complaint with Karachi company police station that three unknown armed persons broke into his house and looted jewellery and other valuables valuing Rs 50,0000. The auto thieves stole a bike (SGM-1627) of Muhammad Zeeshan valuing Rs 90,000 and lifted another car (LD-852) of Abdur Rasheed valuing Rs 60,0000.
Two cases of robbery and one case of car lifting were reported to Industrial Area police station during the last week. A citizen Malik Baber Khan informed Industrial Police station that unidentified persons stole a laptop from his car valuing Rs 54,000.
In another incident, Dr Tahir Hameed informed Industrial Area police station that unknown people stole cable from the NTS office valuing Rs 100,000. The auto thieves stole a bike (RIQ-539) of a citizen Haq Nawaz valuing Rs 90,000 from the limits of same police station.
Lohi Bher police station registered two cases each of auto theft and robbery. A citizen Suhail Qaiser informed Lohi Bher police station that unknown bandits stole cash and jewellery valuing Rs 90,0000 from his house.
In another incident, Muhammad Rafqat filed a complaint with Lohi Bher police station that five armed persons broke into his house and looted cash and gold ornaments valuing Rs 1.5 million. Auto thieves stole a car (VW-677) of a citizen Muhammad Salih valuing Rs 1.2 million and lifted another car (CT-049) worth Rs 1.3 million.
Similarly, Sabzi Mandi police station registered two cases each of robbery and one case of auto theft. The auto thieves stole a car (LWE-8738) of Adeel Ghani valuing Rs 300000 from the limits of same police station. Muhammad Khalil filed a complaint with Sabzi Mandi police station that two armed persons entered his shop and snatched cash of Rs 80,0000 at gunpoint.
In another incident, Frukh Sultan informed Sabzi Mandi police station that three armed persons riding a bike snatched cash and mobile phone valuing Rs 90000 from him at gunpoint. During the last week, Sihala and Khanna police stations registered each two cases of robbery. One case of robbery and auto theft were reported to Bhara Kahu police station. Similarly, Shalimar, Ramna, Secretariat and Noon police stations registered one case each of auto theft during the last week.
