The severe drought is likely to prevail over the country's southern parts affecting 20 districts of Sindh and 11 of Balochistan during the current week, the Met Office has said. As per the weather conditions, the Met said that moderate to severe drought is expected to continue in nearly all districts of Sindh and several in Balochistan during this week.
The affected districts in Sindh: Badin, Dadu, Hyderabad, Jacobabad, Jamshoro, Karachi, Khairpur, Larkana, Matyari, Mohenjo-Daro, Naushero Feroze, Qambar Shadadkot, Sukkur, Sajawal, Sanghar, Shaheed Benazirabad, Tharparkar, Thatta, and Umerkot.
Districts in Balochistan that are likely to suffer from drought are Awaran, Bolan, Chaghi, Gwadar, Kech, Kharan, Noushki, Mastung, Panjgur, Quetta and Washuk. "Normal conditions are likely to prevail in the northern half of the country over the period, it said.
