Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Tuesday held Prime Minister Imran Khan responsible for the leakage of joint investigation team (JIT) report on the fake bank accounts for political gains. Talking to reporters, senior PML-N leaders including Khurram Dastgir and Rana Tanvir Hussain said that Prime Minister Imran Khan, who has kept the portfolio of minister for interior with himself and is in charge of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), should be held responsible for the leakage of the JIT report.
Khurram Dastgir insisted that the JIT report has been leaked out for political purpose, adding how it is possible that the Prime Minister is unaware of leakage of the report. "The JIT report was intentionally leaked out by the government for political gains," he maintained, adding the PTI government has resorted to a 'political stunt', allegedly, to hide its own incompetence.
"This government has come into power to devastate the country through its efforts of making Pakistan a 'one-party' state and weakening its economy," he claimed. "Instead of tracing out the killers of SP Tahir Dawar, the Prime Minister who is also holding the portfolio of the federal interior minister, is making all-out efforts not to extend medical treatment to Shehbaz Sharif, who is in the NAB custody," he further accused Prime Minister Khan.
Referring to the economic situation, he said that it appears the government will fulfil all the conditions of International Monetary Fund (IMF) prior to approaching for a bailout package. About the anti-encroachment drive of the government, Dastagir said that the government should have demolished the Bani Gala residence of Prime Minister Imran Khan before cracking down on other illegal buildings.
"Before touching the bricks of a house owned by any poor, the government should have demolished the walls of Bani Gala [residence of Imran Khan] because it is also an illegal construction and comes under the jurisdiction of Islamabad Capital Territory administration," he added.
About the closure of Asghar Khan case, Dastgir said it was the PTI which was maligning political opponents on the Asghar Khan case and now it is asking for closure of the case. Speaking on the occasion, Rana Tanveer accused the PTI government of using delaying tactics in complete medical checkup of Shahbaz Sharif, adding that the government is victimising its political opponents.
