The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has released Rs 187 billion (27.7 percent) including Rs 57.4 billion foreign aid for different development projects under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2018-19 against the total budgeted allocation of Rs 675 billion.
According to the latest data of PSDP 2018-19 released by the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform, the government released a total of Rs 79.02 billion including Rs 6 billion foreign aid for development projects of various ministries, divisions and related departments out of Rs 291.55 billion budgeted allocation.
The government has not released development funds so far for Commerce Division, Inter-Provincial Coordination Division and Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony Division.
The Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform released a total of Rs 81.26 billion including Rs 43.5 billion foreign aid out of Rs 185.2 billion budgeted allocation for various development projects of the National Highway Authority (NHA) and Rs 8.1 billion out of Rs 28.065 billion budgeted allocation for development projects of Pakistan Railways.
The government released Rs 17.18 billion including Rs 4.7 billion foreign aid out of Rs 78 billion for development projects and schemes of Water Resources Division. A total of Rs 11.81 billon including Rs 60.72 million foreign aid out of Rs 30.96 billion budgeted allocation were released for Higher Education Commission; Rs 4.3 billion were released for the Interior Division; Rs 2.78 billion for Communication Division (other than NHA); and Rs 598.967 million were released for Federal Education and Professional Training Division.
The government released Rs 1.4 billion out of Rs 12.78 billion budgeted allocation for the development projects of the National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination Division; Rs 1.79 billion for Planning, Development and Reforms; and Rs 7.2 million for Textile Industry Division.
The government released Rs 207.3 million for the Cabinet Division against the total budgeted allocation of Rs 1 billion. The Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission received Rs 10.18 billion out of Rs 26.7 billion budgeted allocation for development projects. An amount of Rs 443.5 million was released for the Aviation Division; Rs 540.68 million for Climate Change; Rs 1.092 billion have been released for Defence Production Division, Rs 674.29 million for development projects of Maritime Affairs Division and Rs 449.73 million have been released for Revenue Division.
The government released Rs 714.5 million including Rs 344.51 million foreign aid for Information Technology and Telecom Division out of Rs 1.45 billion budgeted allocation; Rs 11.67 billion including Rs 718.67 million foreign aid for State and Frontier Region Division; Rs 5.61 billion including Rs 5.53 billion foreign aid out of Rs 33.37 billion for development projects of Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO); and Rs 1.86 billion for the development projects of Housing and Works Division.
The government released Rs 10.78 billion including Rs 2 billion foreign aid for development projects of Azad Jammu and Kashmir against the total budgeted allocation of Rs 25.86 billion and Rs 7.84 billion including Rs 398.7 million foreign aid for development project of Gilgit-Baltistan out of Rs 17.53 billion budgeted allocation for current the fiscal year-2018-19.
The funds are released as per quarterly ceilings; first quarter (July-September) 20 percent, second quarter (October-December) 20 percent, third quarter (January-March) 30 percent and fourth quarter (April-June) 30 percent.
