Criticising the PTI-led government, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique has said that incompetent government has pushed the country towards crisis and the upcoming mini budget will bring massive inflation.
Speaking outside an accountability court in Lahore on Saturday, Saad said: "The country has been handed over to incompetent people who pushed it into crisis." He added that those who brought Imran Khan into power are now regretting it. He said that political victimisation is being carried out in the name of accountability which will not last long. "Time will change and they will change soon. We are not corrupt, our conscience is clear," he said.
The PML-N leader said: "The people of Pakistan will soon get rid of civil dictatorship in the country." He added that the prime minister is roaming all over the world with a begging bowl. Saad also hinted that the PML-N may join hands with the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) for legislation purpose. "We would not topple the government but become a strong opposition. He said the PML-N made a mistake in its tenure by "not modifying the NAB laws."
Earlier, an accountability court extended physical remand of Khawaja Saad Rafique, and his brother Salman Rafique till January 19 in Paragon Housing Society scam case. The NAB prosecutor told the court that the records of the Paragon Housing Society shows that an outstanding amount of Rs 2 billion was transferred to sons of Salman Rafique and Nafim Zia and 20 plots are owned by the Khawaja brothers in the society.
