ANP has hinted at moving judiciary against the possible privatization of the Bank of Khyber (BoK), adding that bank is the source of receipts of the province and instead privatization stressed need for its further strengthening.
In a statement issued here Saturday, the general secretary ANP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sardar Hussain Babak asked the provincial government to forget the idea of the privatization of the Bank of Khyber. He said that ANP will defend this major source of income of the province.
Babak, who is also the parliamentary leader of ANP in KP Assembly lamented that the unnecessary interference of the government has weakened the bank and now to hide its misdeeds it is bent upon the privatization of the bank.
He said that presently nearly 2400 employees are working on different posts in over 160 branches of the BoK. He alleged that the government is following nepotism and going to sell maximum shares of the bank to pave way for handing of the management of the bank to private sector.
Sardar Hussain Babak warned that ANP will not allow the privatization of BoK in any circumstances and asked the government to stop the appeasement of its cronies through using national resources.
