The Met Office on Saturday forecast a very cold and dry weather for the most parts of the country in the ext 24 hours. However, it said, a partly cloudy weather is expected in Malakand and Hazara Divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. "A westerly wave is still affecting upper and central parts of the country and likely to move east-ward during next 24 hours," it added.
Haze is likely to grip parts of Sindh mainly in the morning hours while a partly cloudy to complete cloudy weather with a drizzle in Karachi, Thatta and Sukkur Divisions is expected. Over the past 24 hours: Scattered rain and snow over the hills fell in Malakand, Hazara and Rawalpindi Divisions, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, while at isolated falls in Quetta, Makran, Sukkur, Peshawar, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faislabad, Sargodha, D. G. Khan, Sahiwal and Bahawalpur Divisions.
Maximum rainfall was recorded in Balakot as 29 mm, Pattan and Dir 25 mm, each, Risalpur 20 mm, Garhidupatta 17 mm, Muzaffarabad 16 mm, Mirkhani, Kalam and Malamjabba 15 mm, each, Chitral 12 mm, Rawalakot 11 mm, Lower Dir, Murree and Islamabad Zero Point 10 mm, each, Drosh 9 mm, Peshawar City, Lasbella and Kotli 7 mm, each, Saidpur 6 mm, Cherat, Golra and Chaklala 5 mm, each.
Kalam received 9 inches of snowfall, Malamjabba and Murree 4, each, Ziarat 2 and Chitral 1. Minimum temperature was witnessed in Bagrote, Gupis and Skardu minus 8 degrees Celsius, each, Astore minus 6, Kalam and Malamjabba minus 5, each, Hunza minus 4, Kalat minus 3, Drosh, Gilgit, Bunji, Parachinar and Murree minus 2, each.
