A private plane carrying Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and other passengers skidded off the runway while landing at the Benazir International Airport in Islamabad on Sunday. Aaj News reported that Bilawal as well as all other passengers and the crew remained unhurt because the plane luckily stopped after drifting away by 10 feet. The front tyre of the aircraft skidded off during the landing reportedly due to failure of its hydraulic break.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) rescue teams reached the spot immediately and safely evacuated all on-board passengers, including the PPP chairman to the lounge. The plane carrying Bilawal was taken to apron using heavy machinery.
