The Karachi Port handled 191,811 tonnes of cargo comprising 124,682 tonnes of import cargo and 67,129 tonnes of export cargo including 8,984 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargos of 124,682 tonnes comprised of 55,008 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,021 tonnes of bulk cargo; 3,290 tonnes of Soya bean seeds and 64,363 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. The total export cargos of 67,129 tonnes comprised of 44,951 tonnes of containerised cargo; 17,600 tonnes of clinker and 4,578 tonnes of rice.
As many as 8,984 containers comprising of 3,909 containers import and 5,075 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday. The breakup of imported containers shows 1,511 of 20's and 1,073 of 40's loaded while 252 of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,212 of 20's and 550 of 40's loaded containers while 955 of 20's and 904 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were four ships namely Ever Union, Xin Hong Kong, YM Plum and Mosel Ace carrying containers and vehicle sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were two vessels viz. Xin Mei Zhou and Mosel Ace carrying containers and vehicle currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 165,730 tonnes comprising 122,127 tonnes of import cargo and 43,603 tonnes of export cargo including 4,005 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 122,127 tonnes includes 12,100 tonnes of palm oil; 1,554 tonnes of palm kernel; 4,500 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 51,171 tonnes of coal; 3,440 tonnes of LPG and 49,362 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 43,603 tonnes includes 16,813 tonnes of cement; 57 tonnes of condensate and 26,733 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 4,005 containers comprising of 2,598 containers import and 1,407 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday. There were two ships namely CV MSC Courage and MV Alani carrying containers and coal respectively sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while another ship namely MV Sexta carrying palm kernel is expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of eleven vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, cement, coal, soyabean seeds, palm kernel, LPG and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as seventeen vessels viz. CV MSC Mirella, MV Seacon-7, MV CNG Concord, MV Vita Ocean, MV Pedhoulas Trader, MV Belita, MV Globe Trotter, MV Li Etta, MV Pacific Activity, MV Baltic Light, MV Arawana, MT Al- Ghashamic, MT SC Erocco, MT NCC Noor, MT UACC Muharraar, MT Burn Shun and MT Chemroad Hope respectively carrying containers, steel coil, soyabean, coal, palm kernel, LNG, diesel oil and palm oil were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were two vessels viz. CV MSC Mirella and MV Seacon-7 carrying containers and steel coil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Friday There are two ships namely CV MS Tiger and CV Safmarine Ngami carrying containers due to arrive on Saturday.
