There is no let-up in increasing crime cases in the heavily-guarded federal capital as armed robbers struck various places of the city, depriving citizens of cash and valuables worth millions of rupees. According to data gathered by Business Recorder here on Saturday, various police stations of the city registered over 11 cases of theft including robbery and snatching at gunpoint, six cases of auto theft, three cases of murder and one case of kidnapping during the last week.
The most 'favourite' areas for the criminal gangs were within the limits of Kohsar, Lohi Bher, Shalimar, Sabzi Mandi, Bhara Kahu, Noon and Golra police stations.
During the aforementioned period, Kohsar police station registered two cases of robbery and one of motor vehicle theft. One Suleman Javed informed Kohsar police station that robbers stole a mobile phone and cash from his shop.
In another incident, Muhammad Yahya Khan filed a complaint with Kohsar police station that unknown robbers stole a mobile phone valuing Rs 30,000 from his car. Auto thieves stole a bike bearing registration number-216 of one Zahid Zafar valuing Rs 100,000.
Tow cases of robbery and one case of car-lifting were reported to Lohi Bher police station during the said period. Auto thieves stole a bike (MIN-666) of one Abdul Sattar valuing Rs 80,000.
A citizen Naveed Habibullah filed a complaint with Lohi Bher police station that robbers stole cash and other items valuing Rs 60,000 from his house. Another Waseem Akbar informed Lohi Bher police station that an accused Muhammad Arshad stole local and foreign currency worth Rs 1500,000 from his house.
Shalimar police station registered one case each of robbery and auto theft during the same period. The carjackers stole a car bearing registration number JG-945 of a citizen Muhammad Tehseen Sadiq valuing Rs 800,000. One Sheraz Akhtar informed Shalimar police station that unknown persons had killed his brother Saeed Iqbal.
Similarly, Sabzi Mandi police station registered one case each of motor vehicle theft and snatching at gunpoint. Auto thieves stole a car (IB-537) of one Abdullah valuing Rs 250,000.
In another incident, Aamir Abbas filed a complaint with Sabzi Mandi police station that two armed persons riding a bike snatched cash and a mobile phone from him, valuing Rs 23,000, at gunpoint.
One case each of murder and kidnapping were also reported to Bhara Kahu police station during the last week. One Aamir Ali Abbasi informed Bhara Kahu police station that an accused Usman along with three others killed his brother Wajid Ali. Another Zafar Iqbal filed a complaint with Bhara Kahu police station that unknown kidnappers had abducted his son Faisal Zafar.
