Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) Peshawar region in its campaign against gas pilferers has disconnected 6550 feet illegal gas pipeline, 652 illegal gas connections and 320 tampered gas meters from several rural areas of Peshawar.
According a statement issued here on Sunday, the disconnections have been made in areas including Serband, Bahadar Kali, Landi Arbab, Pishtakhara, Landi Sarak on Charsadda Road, Pakha Ghulam, Wadpaga, Chamkani and adjacent localities during last one week.
The statement further said that around six FIRs have been lodged and 21 applications have been submitted in various police stations for registration of cases.
Saqib Arbab, General Manager, Peshawar, has said that actions have also been taken against illegal gas compressor users and so for 57 illegal gas compressors and 68 gas meters have been disconnected.
