Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah has formed a committee to ensure the strengthening the development activities in Thar with a view to enhance the facilities of Food, Health and Education specifically, including water to people of Thar. The committee headed by the Secretary Implementation & Coordination would comprise five other members including Special Secretary Health and Commissioner Mirpurkhas.
The chief secretary, while presiding a high level meeting also called a report for distribution of Ration Bags to the needy persons of drought affected Thar. The meeting was informed by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PMDA) director general that the Ration Bags had been distributed to 2,76,152 families in Thar during last 03 months, similarly 64,455 patients were treated free of charge, while 34,919 medical camps were installed during the same tenure.
Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah also called report for provision of fodder to the live stock of Thar. He advised that strict monitoring be maintained for the Development task in Thar. The RO Plants must be kept functional he added. Secretaries Planning, Education and Managing Director Sindh Education Foundation were also present in the meeting.
