Medical examination of the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was carried out at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) on Tuesday. After the examination, doctors found that Nawaz's heart is larger than normal, said sources. Nawaz Sharif was brought to the PIC from Kot Lakhpat jail amid tight security and entry of patients was barred to the PIC ahead of his arrival.
"Three tests, ECG, echocardiogram and Thallium of Nawaz Sharif, were conducted," the sources said. "The echocardiogram report showed that Nawaz's heart is bigger than normal." The result of Nawaz's Thallium test will be received later, the doctors added.
A few days earlier, a team of doctors had examined Nawaz at the Kot Lakhpat jail. Nawaz's blood samples had been sent to Jinnah Hospital and it was advised that he be taken to the PIC for cardiac tests. Nawaz's physician Dr. Adnan Khan has written a letter to the provincial secretary health seeking findings and recommendations of the medical board which examined Nawaz on 16th January 2019. The PML-N leaders have expressed concern over Nawaz's health and demanded his proper medical treatment. Sources claimed that Nawaz is "comfortable" and his due care is being taken in prison.
