The University of Karachi on Friday announced certificate and diploma courses in Arabic language. According to detail, the Arabic department would conduct the certificate and diploma courses and those who are interested in these programs may apply for admissions till January 31, 2019. The admission forms would be receive and submitted at the First Floor, Islamic Studies Block, Department of Arabic, KU.
The students interested in two-semester long certificate course in Arabic must have completed intermediate while for two-semester long diploma in Quranic Arabic, a person must have completed intermediate and Arabic certificate course whereas diploma in contemporary Arabic would be offered to people who have completed intermediate and Arabic certificate course. The diploma in contemporary Arabic would be completed in two-semesters.
Meanwhile, the Department of Biochemistry, University of Karachi, on Friday received donorship offer from Professor Abdul Hamid and Najma Shaikh of Class 1966-67. The donors Mr. and Mrs. Abdul Hamid are interested to award graduate and undergraduate student scholarship to the Department of Biochemistry, KU.
This program would be called "Professor Abdul Hamid and Najma Shaikh Class of 1966-67, Academic Achievement Award". In this regard, Professor Abdul Hamid and Najma Shaikh and Karachi University Registrar Professor Dr Majid Mumtaz signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The signing ceremony was held at the Registrar Office, KU.
As per the MoU, the position holder students of the Biochemistry department (both morning and evening shifts) would be awarded with cash prizes. The main points of the MoU includes that the scholarship will be awarded annually on the basis of merit i.e. CGPA or percentage obtained by the students in their B.Sc. Hons (three years program) in morning and in evening session.
