Apple introduces Smart Battery Case for its latest iPhones

Offering more battery time, Apple has released new Smart Battery cases for its iPhones to increase the battery life of an iPhone on a single charge along with offering protection.

Cupertino tech giant Apple released new battery cases for its iPhones compatible with its latest models: the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR, reported Business Insider.

As per Apple, the Smart Battery cases are compatible with wireless charging pads and can power an iPhone for up to 21 hours of internet use, increasing the battery life an iPhone can get on a single charge.

Apple detailed that the case is lined with soft microfiber from the inside that helps protect the iPhone. On the outside, the case has a silky, soft-touch finish of the silicone exterior that ‘feels great in your hand’. Also, the case is easy to put on and take off, thanks to the soft elastomer hinge design.

Moreover, user can charge the iPhone and battery case at the same time for increased talk time up to 36 hours, internet usage of up to 20 hours, and even longer audio and video playback up to 25 hours. When the Smart Battery Case is on, the intelligent battery status is displayed on the iPhone Lock screen and also in the Notification Center so that the user known how much charge is left.

The cases come in black and white colors only and cost $129. As a part of its product listing, Apple mentioned that the case provides ‘longer battery life while offering great protection’. Apple also mentioned that the Smart Battery Case isn’t compatible with iPhone 8 or iPhone X.
