The Department of Mass Communication at NUST School of Social Science & Humanities (S3H) held a panel discussion and a lecture on the opportunities of pursuing higher studies in China. Held at the University's main auditorium here on Wednesday, the session attracted an overwhelming number of undergraduate and graduate students from various institutions of NUST.
Joveria Hassan, a faculty member at S3H who is also pursuing her PhD from the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (STJU) China, was the resource person for the session. The aim was to educate aspiring students on the opportunities and prospects of pursuing higher studies in China, myths of studying in China and post-degree opportunities.
The 30-minute lecture was titled "Outside the Classroom: What else to Expect from Chinese Universities." The lecture was followed by a question & answer session, wherein the resource person gave detailed answers to the different queries raised by the students. Former ambassador Syed Hasan Javed, Director Chinese Study Centre (CSC), graced the occasion as chief guest.
The panel for discussion also included Dr Muhammad Arif, PhD in Journalism from Hebei University of China and Dr Ashfaq Ahmad Shah, PhD from College of Humanities & Development Studies in China among other faculty members of the School.-PR
