A six-member medical board comprising cardiologists visited the Kot Lakhpat Jail on Wednesday to examine health condition of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif. The medical board comprising cardiologists from the Pakistan Institute of Cardiology, Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology and Faisalabad Institute of Cardiology visited the Jail and had thorough check up of Nawaz Sharif.
Sources said the medical board checked Nawaz's resting heart rate as well as his heart rate while moving or exercising. Last week, Nawaz also underwent a checkup at the PIC by a three-member board where his medical test was also conducted. Family doctor of the Sharif family also complained that he has not been given copies of the medical board's reports.
The members of Sharif family also demanded that Nawaz Sharif should be given proper medical treatment Nawaz Sharif, who is serving a seven-year sentence in the Al Azizia Steel Mills case, has earlier complained about 'poor' facilities in the jail. A couple of days ago Nawaz Sharif had complained about flu and fever, requesting a meeting with his physician.
PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah has expressed the hope that Nawaz Sharif would get relief from the high court as the prosecution had been unable to bring forth any evidence of corruption against him. "Nawaz Sharif is facing politics of revenge," he claimed.
