At least two persons of a family lost their lives and five others were injured when roof of their house collapsed due to heavy rain in Bajaur tribal district on Thursday. The injured have been shifted to district headquarters hospital Khar. Local sources said the incident happened in Tarkho area of Mamond tehsil in the morning when roof of Momin Said's house collapsed during heavy rain. Two daughters of Momin Said, Aleena and Bakhtiar, lost their lives in the incident.
The area people with the help of the district administration officials reached the spot and started rescue activities. The bodies and the injured were taken to Agency Headquarters Hospital Khar. Rain started in Bajaur tribal district on Wednesday which continued on Thursday. The Metrological Department predicted rain in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and tribal districts for Thursday.
