The Punjab Finance Department has said that FD has released third quarter of funds in respective Special Drawing Accounts (SDA) and it is under process as and when the reference is received from respective administrative department. "There is nothing pending on the part of the finance department's budget wing," said a spokesperson of the Punjab Finance Department.
He said that the department allocated a sum of Rs 12.360 billion for the primary and secondary healthcare department (P&SHC) and Rs 19.721 billion for the specialize healthcare department for purchase of drugs and medicines.
"Up till now, the finance department released Rs 7.684 billion to the P&SHC out of its current financial year's allocation and Rs 4.215 billion was released as supplementary grant during the current fiscal year. Thus, total Rs 12.079 billion was released to the P&SHC," he added.
According to him, Rs 12.096 billion were released to the primary and secondary during 2017-18 for the purchase of medicine. Moreover, up till now the finance department released Rs 11.853 billion out of its current fiscal year allocation and Rs 2.512 billion as supplementary grant. Therefore total Rs. 14.366 billion was released to the specialize healthcare department for purchase of drugs and medicine till December 2018.
