ANP's President Asfandyar Wali Khan while expressing sorrow over the murder of Pashtoon political worker Arman Loni in Loralai, Balochistan and strongly condemned the incident. In a telephonic message from Saudi Arabia, the ANP chief said that they are followers of the non-violent philosophy of Bacha Khan and do not believe in violence.
He said that peaceful protest for seeking rights is the fundamental right of every citizen, saying that baton charging and attack on protesters has taken a new shape in the country. The veteran said that the provision of security to citizens is the responsibility of the rulers, in which they have been failed so far.
He said that the tradition of torturing of peaceful citizens to death can put the salvation of the state at risk. Therefore, he asked the government to refrain from taking situation to such a stage. Asfandyar while expressing heartiest sympathies with the heirs of Arman Loni prayed God may bestow upon eternal peace to the deceased political worker and give fortitude to the bereaved family to bear the loss.
