A division bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) headed by Justice Malik Shehzad Ahmed would proceed today with bail petitions of opposition leader in national assembly Shahbaz Sharif in Ashiana Housing scheme and Ramzan Sugar mills cases. On previous hearing Shahbaz's counsel had contended that his client has been nominated in the Paragon Housing City scam case despite the fact that he has no direct or indirect role in the matter. "There are no statements against Shahbaz in the reference, yet he has been on physical remand for 50 days and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) even not submitted a reply, the counsel added.
The court had directed the prosecutor of NAB to file its reply in the petitions and observed, "Seven months have passed and we will not allow further delay".
