After having conducted a number of tests of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, the medical board on Tuesday submitted a detailed report along with relevant record of medical reports to the provincial home department. Prof Dr Mehmood Ayaz, who is heading the board, told the media that a number of tests including CT scan, ultrasound, blood tests were conducted and heads of department concerned examined the reports.
When asked to share results of Nawaz's reports, Dr Ayaz said that first right about disclosure of report is of the patient and his family if they desired, the same can be made public. To another query, he said they have suggested minor changes in the medicines of Nawaz Sharif. He further said the board has also recommended necessary treatment of Nawaz Sharif pertaining to his heart problem. On Tuesday, Maryam Nawaz also visited the Services Hospital to enquire about her father's health. She remained there for some time.
Talking to the media informally, Maryam said Nawaz wants to go back to the jail and prayed for good health of his father.
Other PML-N leaders including Rana Mohammad Tanveer MNA, Mohammad Pervaiz Malik MNA, Lord Mayor Mubashar also visted the hospital.
The PML-N leader Pervaiz Rasheed said that he rejects all rumours of any deal between former PM Nawaz Sharif and the government. "There has been no deal," he said. "Nawaz Sharif has been shifted to hospital because it is his rights as a prisoner; all the prisoners have the right [to medical facilities]. There are hospitals inside the prison too. No one did him [Nawaz Sharif] any favour."
On the other hand, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders claimed that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was keen to go to London (for treatment). "Nawaz Sharif is keen to go to London. His medical reports are normal but he wants to go abroad," Punjab Information Minister Fayazul Hasan Chohan said.
