Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Monday decided to give salary package to the government doctors on par with the Punjab government doctors' salaries. He directed Chief Secretary Mumtaz Ali Shah to finalise the needed work and then take up the matter at next cabinet huddle so that it could be discussed and approved.
The chief minister cited that Punjab government had already approved lucrative salary package for doctors. Therefore, "we need to ensure that our doctors get remunerated at par with the doctors serving under Punjab government," he said.
The Chief Secretary has referred the matter to health department directing to calculate and compare the pay and allowances of doctors in Sindh with Punjab's and other provinces' doctors. He directed them to submit a detailed report along with its financial impact to be discussed at next cabinet meeting.
