Three day conference cum expo organized by Ministry of Science and Technology, under the directives of "Senate Standing Committee on Science and Technology" kicked off on Monday at PCSIR Laboratories Complex, Lahore on "Higher Education in Science and Technology for Socio economic Development of Pakistan".
Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Chairman Standing Committee of Science and Technology, Senator Syed Sabir Shah, Secretary Ministry of Science and Technology Yasmin Masood, Minister Baitul Maal Punjab Ajmal Cheema, Dr Shehzad Alam chairman PCSIR and Dr Quratul- Ain Syed director general PCSIR Lahore were present on this occasion.
The conference will revolve around the linkages between adoptions of best practices by sharing the success stories of Universities of Pakistan which leads to Domestic education Policy Reforms, Economic Growth, Sustainable Development, Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
The aim of the conference is to bring together leading Education Policy Makers, Academicians, Research Scholars, Economists and Top Industrial Managers for sharing their experiences on various aspects of S&T education in Pakistan to develop a nexus between Academia. Research Institutes and Industry, Higher Education in Science and Technology is broadly taken as one of the key driver of economic growth, prosperity and competitiveness of any country.
The objective of the conference is to realize and emphasize upon the public mission and potential of Higher Education in Pakistan and facilitate the engagement between academic institutes, Industry, policy makers and leadership to share and recommend best practices.
