Murad informs Sindh Assembly: Police department also accomplice in Ranjhani's murder

Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah on Monday told the provincial assembly that police department is also accomplice in the murder of Irshad Ranjhani, saying that there is no one above the law, as culprits behind the killing have to face justice.
Giving a statement on a point of order placed by MMA's Syed Abdul Rasheed on killing of Irshad Ranjhani, the chief minister assured the legislature that main accused, Rahim Shah, who is UC chairman, with the police will face the justice indiscriminately. He said that his party rule will never let the province become a police state. He called the murder 'shocking'.
"Police mindset has to be changed. If needed I will myself file an FIR," he said that the police take a bullet wounded person to station for inquiry and not to hospital for a treatment. He said that the police are responsible for the Sahiwal killings, and never took a lesson from that tragedy. All the police officials cannot be good or evil, he said, but the government will not let the province slip away into a 'police state'.
Abdul Rasheed had pointed out that Irshad died on the spot after being gun-wounded, as none took his to the hospital for a medical help. He asked the government whom should be held responsible for the murder, as Malir police is well-known as 'shooter'. He sought an immediate action from the government to bring the culprits to justice. Syed Murad Ali Shah also informed the house that the PTI led-opposition cannot be handed over the PAC chairmanship since Imran Khan is not the signatory of the CoD.
Earlier, opposition walked out the house in protest against Sindh IT Minister, Taimur Talpur's taunts to GDA's Nusrat Sehar Abbasi that her husband was given the job by the PPP. The both legislators also remonstrations that led the opposition's protest in front of the speaker chair. The house until the opposition stepping out remained in a grip of noise. The unpleasant incident occurred during the questions and answers session on Sindh Energy Department. Nusrat Sehar Abbasi also complained to the deputy speaker for being partial with a tilt to the treasury.
Sindh Energy Minister, Imtiaz Shaikh told the house that the K-Electric has informed his department that it is investing $450 million into improving transmission system, quoting the private electricity supplier has made 75 different areas of the city as 'load shedding free'. However, industrial power outages, the K-Electric linked to the existing gas load shedding to its generation plants, he said, replying to a question that the electric power to be generated from the Thar coal will go into the national grid, which NTDC is responsible for distribution.
However, the Sindh government has projects to provide the far-flung areas of Sindh with solar energy setups. "No matter 300 mega watts of power the Hesco falls short of, it is the first right of Thar people to get it electricity," he said. Syed Abdul Rasheed also raised an issue related to shortage of facilities in Lyari General Hospital, saying that the emergency services are in rundown conditions. He said that the hospital stands unattended by doctors and paramedics with no emergency related facilities. The 16-bed hospital is budgeted with millions of rupees annually, he said that what the provincial government has to help end the negligence and improve the medical assistance to the residents.
